It seems like the same amount of mouse clicks. You still have to go to Shape Magic and Weld. Where in SCAL you weld, ungroup. Same difference if you ask me. Seems like a biased review.

    Hi Susan!

I don't think she was trying to be biased, that is why she presented everything and then stated several times it was her opinion. Both are good programs, and either would enable you to do so much more with your Cricut. Just a matter of which one individuals will like better. One thing that is really wonderful is that both have a free trial that you can download & play with each to see which you are more comfortable with.

    Susan,

I wasn't trying to be biased. As I stated everyone will have thier own opinion and that was just mine. I just really like the interface of Make The Cut. I have not had a lot of experience with SCAL 2 and it is a definate improvement over SCAL 1 which I do own. If I was going to purchase I would definately review all my options and make an informed decision after weighing the Pro's and Con's of each software package.

I don't know about biased but you can preview by just clicking the preview button (you don't have to go to cutter/preview) and you can select all by clicking ctrl-a. It's hard not to notice all the negative opinions of scal that are mentioned but I understand that mtc is better in some ways. Too bad it's so expensive-I can't afford it now and if it's not on sale at a later date, I can't afford it then either. Thanks for the video-very interesting to see the differences.

I bought all 3 programs. For welding, MTC seems easiest to me, too. Also, MTC allows me to split the dot part on an "i" from the stick part so I can move it independently and weld it in a different spot. SCAL 1 and 2 don't allow that; I have to use Inkscape or another program for that.
There are currently some negatives about MTC, like the lack of shadowing, etc., but he is working on it. SCAL2 is going to be improved as well, but he was working on the MAC version most recently.
This video was about welding, and I think she's right about MTC being easier.
    Thanks, Tina, for the info!
