There is a new software program hitting the scene called "Make The Cut".  This program allows Cricut owners more freedom then they have ever had in the past.  With it you can cut SVG (scalable vector graphic) format files which are widely available on the internet for FREE, and for sale from many cutting file designers.  You can use any True Type fonts or dingbat shapes that are on your computer to make titles or designs then cut them from your Cricut.   Objects & letters can be welded and more!  It differs from the similiar SCAL (Sure Cuts a Lot) program in that it allows you to manipulate (break apart) your files within the program itself.  So no learning another program in order to cut & manipulate files.  We understand there will be updates coming soon to fix a few of the current issues with the program.

  Most software publishers will work with you in a software crash if you just email or contact them and tell them you had an issue and had to reformat your drive or had a hard drive die.. So with both of these softwares Make The Cut! and Sure Cuts A Lot you can have it on up to 2 computers in your home. If one of them crashes just email them and they should send you another activation code. I had a hard drive failure shortly after I got Sure Cuts A Lot and they worked with me on getting it activated again. I am sure Make the cut would do the same thing..
